Typical Workflow

New clients often ask: "How do I work with Cedarock? What do I have to do?" Every project and client is different, and we treat each one uniquely. Generally speaking, each project has the following "typical" workflow. Note: we handle most of the work -- client involvement is only needed on four steps!

NO-OBLIGATION CONSULTATION: Our company's founder meets with you and learn more about your needs, your company, your products, your sales structure, your goals, and so on. We collect samples of existing literature and ask many questions.

BRAINSTORMING: Our team reviews the input and brainstorms. We define assumptions and sketch out (very) rough layouts for internal use. With a rough plan in hand, we prepare a written proposal.

ALL-INCLUSIVE PROPOSAL: Our proposals define the objective, audience, workflow, and anticipated timeline. We also note any materials we assume the client will provide (logos, photos, copy, etc). Our pricing includes three design concepts and one round of revisions. There is a bullet point list of tasks included, and a page of friendly terms defining ownership, payment schedules, and so on.

PROPOSAL AUTHORIZATION: If everything in the proposal meets your approval, you sign it and fax it to us. We invoice you for the down payment (usually 50% down) and place the project into our job queue. You provide any existing materials such as photos, copy, logos, product information, and so on.

DESIGN CONCEPTING: We compose copy (if your project requires it, or we can use client-provided copy if you wish) and develop three diverse design concepts. Designs can be presented via PDF or on paper (depends on the job type and the requested turnaround time).

REVIEW & REVISIONS: We leave the concepts with you and ask that you provide all revision requests in writing, all at the same time. Doing so will reduce the risk of a missed revision request. You may wish to wait 48 hours before giving us the revision request, just to make sure you remembered everything.

WORK-IN-PROGRESS: We allow up to one week for you to review the concepts. If you are unable to provide feedback within that week, we may need to send a work-in-progress invoice to cover the investment provided to date.

REVISED LAYOUT: After making all requested revisions, we provide a proof for your review.

FINAL APPROVAL: When the proof meets your approval, we ask that you provide your approval in writing. If any addition revisions are requested, they can be handled on a time-and-materials basis.

Cedarock provides three diverse concepts for every project. Our all-inclusive pricing includes one round of revisions and defined terms to protect your investment.
